the story
who is savitri ?
Savitri is the goddess in Hindu mythology, the daughter of the solar deity Savitr and the wife of creator god Brahma.
Apart from this, Savitri is also the name of the previous owner of the apartment, who plays a significant role in shaping the soul and energy of the space.
who are we ?
We are a Danish-Italian couple, who have fallen in love with Sicily. We met each other in Melbourne (Australia) and have lived temporarily in both Copenhagen (Denmark), Madrid (Spain) and Modica (Italy) before buying this vacation home in Palermo.
We bought the apartment in the summer of 2024 and completed almost all renovations by ourselves (let’s just admit that the apartment needed a helping hand) while working full-time remotely.
There has been a lot of challenges on the way (and we are not completely done yet!), but we are very proud of the result so far and hope that our guests will appreciate the small details. Almost all of the furniture and household items are secondhand from the local area, while other items are from our time in Madrid/Copenhagen, when it was just a distant dream of having an apartment in Southern Italy.
